Maribyrnong Defence Site
The Maribyrnong Project is a major urban renewal initiative for the Western Region of Melbourne.
Places Victoria will develop the site once the Federal Department of Defence has prepared it for appropriate uses.
This project will have a major impact on Melbourne’s inner west. It presents opportunities to work with the private sector to deliver:
• housing choice and affordability
• river access, parkland and open space
• community facilities
• restored heritage buildings
• employment opportunities
Shared Vision
The Shared Vision focuses on the high level themes and principles that will inform master plan investigations, and the redevelopment of the site going forward.

Masterplanning Community Engagement
Finalising the Shared Vision was only the first phase of Place Victoria's commitment to consult with the community.
Community input will also be sought during the master planning and statutory planning phases which are expected to occur from late 2011 - 2014+.
Places Victoria will seek community and stakeholder input via:
• Public information displays
• Feedback
• Workshops with local groups and businesses
